Dear Colleague,
On behalf of the Middle East Technical University Physical Education and Sport Department, I am pleased to welcome you to the 15th Annual Congress of the ECSS in Antalya, Turkey, June 23 – 26, 2010.
Antalya – named as Attaleia in ancient times – regarded by Kingdom of Pergamon as “the most beautiful place of that world”. Today’s Antalya – “capital” of the Turkish Mediterranean Coast – is famous with its good archeology museum, many ancient Lycian-Pisidian & Pamphylian sites, long sunny beaches, the Turquoise Coast’s biggest & busiest airport, good hotels, and dramatic sea and mountain views.
Scientific Programme: Sport Sciences – Where the Cultures Meet
The main structure of the scientific program is established and we are looking forward to receiving abstracts. Due to the geographical location of Turkey we expect attendance from all continents; these participants will bring their voices, colors and culture and we all will try to mix these in the Mediterranean style.
Social Programme
The social programme will consist of a Welcome Party on Wednesday evening, a closing banquet on Saturday night, and a range of activity options in and around Antalya.
Congress Venue
The ECSS 2010 Congress will take place at The Adam & Eve Hotel & Convention Center which lies between an extensive forest in the Belek region and the unspoilt beaches of the Mediterranean shore. The Hotel is located at a distance of 35 km from the International Airport, 45 km from the center of Antalya and just 1 km from Belek, the nearest tourist resort. It is also within easy reach of eight magnificent ancient cities and three national parks, set in high mountain scenery. Both the hotel & its conventions center are post-modern works of art. You will experience a visually provocative design statement.
Travel
The Antalya Airport has two separate international terminals and one domestic terminal. It is a spacious modern airport served by regular scheduled flights from Istanbul and Ankara as well as by direct international flights from some European cities. Istanbul is the main arrival airport for the international flights and there are more than 25 domestic flights between Istanbul and Antalya in almost every hour. One of the best choices for your travel may be Turkish Airlines (
www.thy.com). It may be also possible for you to find direct charter flights from many cities of Europe to Antalya. To obtain best air fares we strongly recommend booking your flights early!

- Abstract submission: 15th of December until February 15, 2010
- Notification to authors: April 1, 2010
- Early registration ends: April 16, 2010
- Deadline for registration for presenting authors: May 15, 2010
